Learn to Half Double Crochet

Here is a very slow and detailed demonstration of how to do a half double crochet. Click here to be whisked away to my YouTube video or watch it below.

If you would like written instructions, keep reading.

  1. Make a foundation chain with as many chains as you need or would like to practice with.
  2. //pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js

    (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

  3. Next, turn the foundation chain over so that you can work into the back bumps. Yarn over so that there are two loops on your hook and and insert your hook into the second back bump from the hook. Draw up a loop. You should now have three loops on your hook. Yarn over and draw through all three loops on your hook. Half double crochet made. Continue until you reach the end of your foundation row. Chain one and turn.
  4. Yarn over and insert your hook into the first stitch. Work your HDC as you did in step 2.

And that’s all folks.
