The Everyday Cardi

crochet cardigan pattern

Pattern by Eva Pack

This week, I had the great fortune to test out one of Eva Pack’s wonderful patterns  … “The Everyday Cardi.” You can find the pattern on Ravelry. It comes in a variety of sizes, and can be easily adjusted to suit your needs.

This pattern is great for beginners, who are ready to make the leap from afghans to outfits. For this project, I used 3 and 1/2 skeins of Lion Brand’s Ice Cream Sprinkles (a sport weight yarn) in Vanilla Bean. It’s fairly inexpensive at only $3.15 a skein. I may add on a couple large pockets to the front with what’s left of the fourth skein.

This cardigan is crocheted as one flat piece, and then adding the sleeves and doing a little decreasing to the cuffs. If you are at all nervous about making your first sweater, don’t be. I’ll be here to help you (just drop me a comment or two) if you run into problems.

So, if you know how to do a little half-double crochet, take a leap and try out The Everyday Cardi.
